In this workshop Mark will show you how to use gouache to paint water and sky to achieve broad, sensual, and atmospheric effects.
Making reference to Mark's own plein air painting you will be shown how to mix and apply colours and tones, how to structure and build your composition, and how to work wet in to wet, and how to layer the paint wet over dry.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and especially the more experienced watercolourist seeking to extend their range and experience.

TUTOR: Mark Dober
Mark is a leading Australian watercolourist who specializes in plein-air landscape. Mark’s most recent exhibition, You Yangs, was held at Geelong Art Gallery and featured multi-sheet watercolours. Mark’s watercolour painting is regularly shortlisted for prestigious national art prizes including, in 2017, the John Glover Prize, NSW Plein Air Painting Prize, and the Tattersalls Art Prize. Mark regularly runs workshops in oils, watercolour, and mixed media. He has a PhD in Painting from Monash University and is a regularly published art writer.
