TUTOR: Jessie Rose Ford

Jessie specialises in floral and botanical art and is a professional exhibiting artist whose work has most recently received a Highly Commended Award from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. She has a Bachelor of Illustration, specific training in botanical art, and recently spent 6 months travelling from Melbourne to Cairns via Mount Gambier in SA, she has held 14 workshops in small towns and cities, arriving in Cairns for a 2 week Artist Residency at the Cairns Botanic Gardens. Having never travelled so far North this adventure was a fabulous experience in sharing her knowledge and engaging with different communities. Jessie's approach to teaching is to take a step by step approach with encouragement to building a painting incorporating the essentials of watercolour while allowing each student to explore their strengths and interests.
