Mark will show you how to see and make use of colour, tone and shape and patterns found in nature. Mark will demonstrate how to select and mix your colours, and how to apply washes (wet in wet and wet in dry). You will be shown how to simplify, how to employ negative and positive shapes to build structure, and how to bring a vibrancy of glowing light to your work. This workshop is suitable for both the beginner and the experienced artist.

TUTOR: Mark Dober

Mark is a leading Australian watercolourist who specializes in plein-air landscape. Mark’s most recent exhibition, You Yangs, was held at Geelong Art Gallery and featured multi-sheet watercolours.  Mark’s watercolour painting is regularly shortlisted for prestigious national art prizes including, in 2017, the John Glover Prize, NSW Plein Air Painting Prize, and the Tattersalls Art Prize. Mark regularly runs workshops in oils, watercolour, and mixed media.  He has a PhD in Painting from Monash University and is a regularly published art writer. Terms & Conditions Due to the nature of running the classes we can not give refunds or transfer your class to next term, unless classes are cancelled. Please make sure you have selected the correct date before booking and if for some reason you can not make the class/workshop you can send a friend in stead!

ORIGINAL ARTWORK DELIVERY

Art couriers are used for all framed originals. Cost to clients are quoted at cost price & invoiced separately to the art purchase and must be completed prior to delivery. Artwork can also be collected from our studio.  We require the purchaser or their nominated adult to accept the artwork upon its arrival.

Larger limited edition prints (A2-A1-A0) ship in approximately 7-10 working days.
Original Art ship in approximately 7 working days.
Snowpuppe can take approx. 3 weeks to ship & this depends on availability. Framed prints can take approx. 3 weeks to ship.
